This cow shed is far from any city water or electrical grid.  During their transformation, they were able to preserve most of the old building and made some awesome upgrades along the way. The watering trough became a fountain/interior patio that also triples as a cooling station for the home. They turned the loft area into bedrooms and they reinforced the original stone face with cement to help preserve its natural beauty. 

They also added photovoltaics and hydropower and designed everything to ensure they wouldn’t need to use much energy.  They also added large wooden shutters that when closed act like a second skin, covering the large windows to trap in most of the home’s daily solar heat and greywater is purified and put back to use on the property for watering the fields where they keep their cattle. 

They do not live there year round as they have homes elsewhere but this home is currently acting a getaway for the brother and sister duo as well as their families and extended loved ones. It is also the perfect place to bug out to or if they want to live there permanently it is fully functional and accommodating.
