Anyone who has taken a drive through the countryside knows that you cannot go for too long without coming across an abandoned barn. They have long been left to weather mother nature until their ultimate collapse into a heaping mass of wood and hardware.

What most people don't realize is that these buildings can usually be purchased for a song (much less than what you would purchase for a home) and converted into awesome living spaces that are great for either off the grid living or homesteading.
