It seems that Smith and Wesson are sticking to their guns (pun intended).
Since December and even after some backlash over headlines notifying the public that they will be forgoing the current Smith & Wesson name for American Outdoor Brands they are sticking by their decision.
While they have repeatedly said that the firearms division will stay the same name their expanded products section will be under the new name. It seems however that people would rather they stick to the same name that they have known and loved for years.
After the break keep reading for more information and a short video describing the change.

Who cares. #SigSauer
Who cares? The gun’s name will still be Smith & Wesson. They’re just changing the company name.

Haven’t given them a dime since they started drilling the lock holes.$#%&!@*em
Guess what names not changing? Beretta.
SMITH & WESSON ARE NOT CHANGING THEIR NAME. The Holding company that owns Smith and Wesson has changed their name to American Outdoor Brands. They make many products under American Outdoor Brand and wanted a name to follow suit.
The parent company, Beretta Holding, also owns Beretta USA, Benelli, Franchi, SAKO, Stoeger, Tikka, Uberti, and the Burris Optics company. So no probably not. At least for now.
SMITH & WESSON FIREARMS ARE NOT CHANGING THEIR NAME. The Holding company that owns Smith and Wesson (Smith & Wesson Holding) has changed their name to American Outdoor Brands. They make many Outdoor, survivalist, and apparel products under American Outdoor Brand and wanted a name to follow suit. Smith & Wesson firearms will still be sold as Smith & Wesson.
Sig Sauer is owned by L&O Holding so…
You don’t say, lmao..
I haven’t bought a Smith and Wesson since they sold out to the government and said screw you to the general public and I never will again.
It’s the same principle; different names for the parent company and the guns.
Neither is Smith and Wesson; only the parent company.
They can keep their ridiculous internal locking mechanism.
