Survival weapons are a must when planning a bug out bag or shelter. In particular, firearms which tend to be the priciest part of any survival kit.
Sure, they're expensive, and nowadays you have to jump through hoops just to get them, but by not having them you're putting yourself at an extreme disadvantage.
This applies even more so if you're facing a wilderness survival situation as hunting will be something that is unavoidable. In , an urban situation with civil unrest or a long-term survival situation where you eventually will run out of your food supplies.
You can make an argument that without a firearm in each of those three scenarios, your safety and health are directly affected, depending on what you do or do not have!
Luckily, even if you can only afford the bare bones when it comes to firearms, you do have options.
On the next page, we discuss one option for an inexpensive, durable and very effective firearm: The Mosin Nagant Rifle.
Not $100 anymore
Try $300
They were 65$ now 365$ lol
s**t they weren’t even $100 when I got mine 4 years ago
Where can I get one
Gun show
I came here to say the same thing as all the other people here
Brenda Blakeman Ivey
Got lucky my step father gave me his cause my mother hates guns…
Not $100 anymore.
They aren’t that cheap anymore. Expect to spend at least 250 for one that’s not cracked and rusted
Makes a great pry bar. About it..
Must be able to do reload. Odd ammo. Good rifle though
Must be another liberal journalist writing this crap. Years and years out of the loop of reality.
ammo barely reloadable, hard to find them less than $200 even then getting closer to $300.
I have that rifle and can probably get one for much less
The ammo can be reloaded easily with 150 grain 30caliber.. just gotta buy the brass cased ammo for $1 per round then reuse the brass.. but I’m guessing you all only know of the the cheap 30cent per round steel cased copperwashed crap that is military surplus.
It’s a great round though, it’s been used since the late 1800’s.. And is still being used in battle today in the belt fed, semi auto and bolt action weapons.
I own a 1943 mosin..
And mine costed $184.
Since the Russians cut off the U.S. in trading weaponry, they have gone up a lot in price.
Where in the hell are you paying over $100 for a Nagant?
100.00???? Where???? Uuummmm…….No.
Greg Bennett
Got mine for $100 about ten years ago but not now.
The only real problem will be ammunition resupply. 7.62 x54m is not a US. military or police caliber.
where are they for 100, more like 300
When did they write this story, 20 years ago?
Nicholas Thompson not only can you get the rifle but a battalions worth of Romanian ammunition.
The $100 mosins haven’t been around in 10 years.
Cabelas
I like the M-1
Big 5 sells them
Not anymore. When I started collecting them in the 1990s they ran $80 – $130. Now you’ll be lucky to find one for under $200
The Russians killed one hell of a lot of Nazis with them
I have one. It’s a great weapon.
More like $199.00
My ar will do the trick. But if I wanna reach out a little the mossin is enough
