Why Every Prepper Should Get a Pit Bull Right Now

  • As a kid I remember always being told to stay away from pit dangerous dogs. Which I often found funny because my cousin who lived across the street and my cousin who lived right down the dirt road from me both had pit bulls. Now in my family we didn't consider pit bulls to be dangerous because all we ever knew of them were that they were all as sweet as the ones we knew. And honestly, they really were.

Until one day at the age of 5 when I walked too close to a set of newborn pups and momma pit was nearby.

Next thing I know they are pulling her off of me. Now before you go and get all hyped up I was warned not to go near the pin as she just had pups but I was 5 and listening wasn't my strong suit. Also, she didn't actually hurt me. She pounced on me and growled a lot but I walked away without a scratch. Yes, pit bulls, like any other animal in nature are very protective and that is NOT a bad thing!

Dogs are often a product of training. If a dog is brutal it's because they are taught to be brutal.

Can a dog really be asked to turn that off when suddenly approached by a man or even a child they perceive as a threat? If the dog is a menace we tend to think the owner is the reason.

Yet a well-trained pit bull, a dog who has never been exposed to a brutal environment, is known as one of the bravest and sweetest dogs around!

And another mouth to feed in a shtf event that could be you if it takes it upon itself to do so or your child.

Had a pit/catahoula mix. She’d dive 6+ feet under water and bring up snapping turtles. Super smart and extremely brave

You people are idiots. A pit is the mirror image of its owner/ trainer. If you train it right it won’t turn on you and your kids. But if TSHTF you’ll wish you had one protecting your and your family. Wake up people! And not to sound biased so a good Shepherd works to.

I have a pit and a German shepherd. Love them both but as a survival dog, my money is on the shepherd. My pit is lovable and protective but she’s as dumb as a bag of hammers.

I love my pitties. Mine is smart and protective. But I also believe that each dog has a different individual personality. Pick the dog based on how you and him respond to each other, not because of the breed.
