Why Individualized Bug Out Bags Are Important

  • Bugging out seems easy when it's just one person but most of us have friends and family that we will also be looking out for. Therefore we must take into consideration their needs and plan accordingly.

Sure there are some things that can be universal survival items. Things such as first aid,  food, shelter, etc.

But you must account for those in your group that may have different wants and needs. Some of these wants may have to be put aside once the comforts of modern society are no longer available but there are some things that are needs. Things such as medicine or special food for allergies etc.

That is why tailoring your bug-out bag to each individual not only makes sense from a “what can they reasonably haul” perspective, but also from a need and want perspective.

Packing an adult bug-out bag for a kid, for example, will likely lead to a kid who never uses most of the stuff in their bag and then you're stuck carrying weight that is unneeded.

How would you tailor your bug-out bags for your family? Tell us below.

So your wife has enough room to bring her cosmetics, hair care products, and skin care products.

Just make sure your children’s bags aren’t bright colors. It is also helpful to have natural colors for them to wear. It isn’t likely you’re going to ‘bug out’ at Chuck e cheese.
