What Gun Ban? A Few Enterprising Individuals Have Found a Way Around California's Ban on Assault Rifles

This Is Sure to Generate a Lot of Controversy!

One of the most enduring and fiery debates in the United States, both right now and over the years, is the battle over gun control. Some people take our Constitutional right to bear arms literally and strictly and are ardent supporters of the right of every U.S. citizen to own any type of weapon they want. Others want stricter regulation, even outlawing some types of weapons altogether, especially assault rifles.

In 2015, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 1664, which outlaws assault rifles featuring what's called a bullet button. Almost immediately, people began brainstorming ways around this ban, with one man, Darin Prince, the inventor of the original bullet button, has devised a workaround. He even has a patent! The new device he invented is called a Patriot Mag Release and has already copied by several people.
