The Sun is Warning Us To Prep For a Grid-Down Situation

  • An impending solar minimum demonstrates that there are factors besides earthly influences (such as hackers, terrorists and natural disasters) that could impact power grids and other technological advancements. It’s important to track an event like this since it’s a reminder that we must be ready for a disruption in electricity, internet and phone service.

The sun is nearing a “solar minimum” — a period of low sunspot activity that can have profound effects on Earth. A solar minimum can be dangerous, according to Professor Yvonne Elsworth of the University of Birmingham.

Earth’s thermosphere – an outer layer – cools and can collapse. That makes Earth more susceptible to cosmic rays.

She told The Express, “We are not quite sure what the consequences of this will be but it’s clear that we are in unusual times.”

    • Interfering with satellites, which can disrupt GPS, Internet, television and phone service.
    • Bringing down power grids.
    • Endangering astronauts.

According to NASA, “Streams of solar wind flowing from coronal holes can cause space weather effects near Earth when they hit Earth’s magnetic field. These effects can include temporary disturbances of the Earth’s magnetosphere, called geomagnetic storms, auroras, and disruptions to communications and navigation systems.”

Are you prepared to deal with the consequences of a solar minimum? What tips do you have for survival during a grid-down situation?

That’s a good thing . The warmer the sun then we won’t have to heat water to fo dishes or bath in. And we can cook in the sun for free so it’s all going to work out ok aftet all.

I thought the Sun was planning on shutting the grid down and blaming it on the the goverment.

Works good for solar panels too and causes wind for windmills.

Yeah agreed with Steve. “These kids” as if you don’t go anywhere public and see most if not all adults under 55 glued to their phone. News flash, it’s a cultural thing not a generational thing. All adults use smartphones, computers, and buy modern day toys and$#%&!@* So don’t act like you’re not included.

While that would be nice, most forget about these big oil companies needing power to keep these cells cool.. If not cooled, it would start a chain reaction of explosions, after the first 45 minutes to an hour, throwing out a toxic gas into the air.. I don’t know much about it,just remember seeing it on the history channel,so don’t exactly quote me on that, just look it up,for yourselves.

Been hearing this for a LONG…..LONG time. Was supposed to have happened every year for the past 4 years….lol

Absolutely nothing is going to happen. Same$#%&!@*for 40 years and nothing, nata. If your gonna prep than get ready for our goverment being held accountable for 19 trillion dollars with 19 trillion bullets. That will happen before jesus returns or the sun burns us or the planet melts.

    12. Ryan Williams said:

Without a way to cool the cells?? Yes.. Like,I said,I DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT,YOU’LL HAVE TO LOOK IT UP.. Smh,people would rather call someone an idiot as to look further into what they see.. This is how our country got into such a mess..

Got an old disco ball and a primestar dish? Line the inside with those mirrors and find its focus point when facing the sun. It will boil a cup of water in seconds and cook a hotdog in about 20 seconds. Turn it face down when done and use eye protection. Dont leave the curtains open with it facing the sun inside. It will set the house on fire.

General cooling and less solar activity including sunspot will effect our ability to transcommunicate, anything using radio or satellite will be blocked for briefs periods because of electrical interference.

U must b talking about nuclear. Reactors or spent fuel uranium. Rods. In cooling. Tanks. About right
