The materials needed for this project are inexpensive, which adds to the ease of the solar oven. You may even have most of these things in your home already. And since this project requires a pizza box, it gives you permission to order one! What could be better?

Gather these materials:

• Pizza Box
• Aluminum Foil
• Plastic Wrap
• Foam Board
• Black Construction paper
• Glue
• Paintbrush
• Duct tape
• Box cutter

Step 1: Making an Opening

Using your ruler and pencil, cut a smaller flap from the edge of the pizza box top

Using your box cutter, follow the lines that you drew and cut the box, but make sure you leave one side left uncut.

Step 2: Make the Inside Black

Take your glue and paintbrush and spread the glue in the inside bottom.

Place your construction paper and make sure to cover all the bottom and sides of the bottom part of the pizza box.

Step 3: Making the Walls

Measure your dimensions of the flap that you made at the beginning of this project.

Using those dimensions, create another square using your pencil and ruler on your foam board. Cut the square out with your box cutter and repeat this step 3 times.

Step 4: Make the Walls Reflective

Spread the glue on the flap. Neatly place tinfoil and wrap it around the flap, making sure that the whole flap is covered with tinfoil. (Use the reflective side of the tinfoil)

Spread glue on your three other walls.

Step 5: Putting Everything Together

Using your duct tape, tape the reflective walls to the pizza box. Do this for all the three sides that have no reflective flap.

Cut a very long piece of tinfoil and tape it to one of the reflective wall. Using help from a friend, put each wall at a 120º angle. Surround the tinfoil around all the edges and make sure that the tinfoil is not loose.
