Light Up the Backyard With These Solar Powered Pipe Lights

  • We can't imagine a better summertime DIY project than these solar powered lights. Start by gathering all of your materials.

Step 1: What You Will Need

3 – 1/2-in Dia 90 Black Iron Street Elbow Fittings

    3 -1/2-in dia Black Steel Nipple Fittings (2 – 3”, 1 – 8”)

1 – 1/2-in dia Black Iron Plug Fitting

4 – 1/2-in dia Black Iron Tee Fittings

Rust-Oleum Black Hammered Enamel Spray Paint

3 – Garden Solar Lights (heads only)

    Degreaser (I like Krud Kutter)

    Chain

Now you're ready to begin. Start by cleaning all of the pipes with a degreaser and then wiping it off, and then connect all of the pieces and paint. To finish, place a solar light head in each elbow fitting, and then take the chain and string it through the top tee fitting. Now, just hang it up and let the lights charge.

Wow! This DIY is project is so easy but also so cool. We recommend heading over to the original post on the Instructables website, which has tons of photos demonstrating just how to put this together. Then just enjoy sitting out in your backyard with some mood lighting from your very own solar powered pipe light!
