13 Reasons Why Rubbing Alcohol is a Survival Essential

  • The most obvious survival use for rubbing alcohol is as a fire starter. However, this strong-smelling substance can come in handy for everything from medical attention to cooking.

    1. Fire Starter

Just simply squirt very small amounts onto the wood and you will have no trouble getting a fire started in dry weather conditions.

    2. Remove Ticks

Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and place over the tick. Remove the tick with tweezers.

    3. DIY Ice Pack

Mix together 3 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcohol in a large Ziploc bag and freeze.

    4. Dry Out Cold Sores

Place a cotton ball with a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto the cold sore for a few seconds.

    5. Destroy Unwanted Pests

You can kill insects with rubbing alcohol by simply spraying them using a spray bottle. I do not recommend spraying rubbing alcohol on wood furniture, any type of flooring, or yourself (including your clothing).

    6. Soothe Mosquito Bites

Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and place on your mosquito bites.

    7. Clean Your Eyeglasses

    8. Use As A Degreaser

Soak the greasy areas with rubbing alcohol for a few minutes then wash with regular dish soap.

    9. Soothe Sore Joints And Achy Muscles

Simply massage rubbing alcohol onto the affected area to relieve the pain. Rubbing alcohol acts as a liniment to increase blood flow.

    10. Sanitize Your Hands

Pour about a quarter size amount of rubbing alcohol into your hands and rub your hands together.

    11. Dry Out Wet Ears And Prevent Infection

Place a few drops of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and place inside your ear.

    12. Get Rid Of Nail Fungus

Mix equals parts of water and rubbing alcohol. Soak a cotton ball in this mixture and place on the affected nail for a few minutes. This can be done several times a day.

    13. Sterilize First Aid Equipment

Give them a good soak in rubbing alcohol to kill all germs and bacteria.

Colloidal silver is better to have. A bottle of 500 ppm. I have used it for years. We keep several bottles stashed.

David Brewer There is a huge difference between colloidal silver made from tap water and that of triple distilled water. The idiot made his own from regular tap water and drank quarts a day for months before he turned color. Nobody is saying to drink quarts a day. It doesn’t take much to be effective and it does absolutely no harm to the body internally and it is excellent to stop an infection on external wounds. That is fact and not opinion. Do some research and educate yourself before you not only show yourself to be an$#%&!@* but also ignorant.
