Water is an essential part of life regardless of whether you're disaster relief prepping, camping, at the gym or even just running errands. If you're pulling together a stockpile (which you should be!), water is a no-brainer. You might think it's the easiest item on your list because it's low maintenance: it'll last forever.
In reality, the safest way to store water for a long period of time is through dehydration, which might not make much sense. The purpose of water is to hydrate us so why and how would we dehydrate it? Prior to watching the video on the process, I had no idea this was possible or that it was actually the safest way to store water. Your water supply, along with medicine, is probably the last item you want to jeopardize so learning how to keep it safe and secure is crucial.
To watch how to properly dehydrate water for long-term storage, continue on!

I thought you purified water for storage . If it’s dehydrated there’s nothing left to drink…
So, when you want to drink it you add water to rehydrate it?
Pretty sure that’s the joke.
Lol ohhh.thanks mark
Put a “real” silver coin in the container and it will keep the water pure indefinitely . Old sailing ships did this to have a supply of fresh drinking water – something in the silver works as a microbe killer in water . Check it out if you wish – but it works .
Just have to caution people that there are no USDA aproved methods for doing this…
dehydrated water just add water???
A bit late for April fools jokes. Dehydrated water is called air
Unfortunately, it takes water to rehydrate it, so if you’re short of water that isn’t going to help. 🙂
You know someone will try this lol
Don’t forget the desiccant pack to keep it dehydrated.
This must be for the antifa millennials.
The troll is strong with this one….
Yeah, even add fruit.. or make broth.. once you add water back to rehydrate it it works just like ordinary water !
Technology today just blows my mind. What will they come up with next?!
Just when you think you have your preps in order, then you get this info…. It’s kinda like that V-8 moment…… I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this……Thank You Deepsouthhomestead!!!!
Put this next to your left handed screw drivers and blinker fluid.
just buy it!
I get powdered DHMO at the surplus store.
I think freeze drying water is a better option as it’ll keep longer and take up less space.
Dyhydrate water….. :/
This is either a really stupid joke or a really stupid man.
If you really want to store clean water for an emergency PC mason jars filled with boiling water . I do this all the time when I have less than a full canner. They are set in the pantry and as long as the seal holds and the lid does not rust from the outside the water keeps indefinitely for emergencies.
You should not have said it was an April fools joke! lol No They do not know you cannot have dehydrated water.
Plenty of space for this!
That’s too much work, I just buy the stuff…
Don’t even think about dehydrating my beer!
It’s easy to over dehydrate water. Keep an eye on the temperature and time. I store only organic water.
am i missing something
Stephen Wright called. He wants his powdered water back.
Just add water to rehydrate! Ha! I don’t know how he filmed that with a straight face. Hilarious! 😛
Dehydrate water???
I know the same people who drilled a hole in their iPhone 7’s for headphone jack will try this
?
I prefer commercially available dehydrated water as it contains no dehydrated heavy water and if you need to bug out the added weight of dehydrated heavy water is not wanted. Also if homeland security finds out you have a catch of dehydrated heavy water you will find yourself on a list, some kind of list.
Bahahaha
Someone out there will believe this
I just boil the water down until
Bwahahaha!
ok, you just got 4 minutes of my time I won’t ever get back… this would be more appropriate for April 1st, not Easter.
I prefer to freeze and then vacuum bag.
I had an idea for this as a gag gift. Empty soda cans, sealed, and marked. Rofl
Why isn’t freeze dried better?? Or is it just the same thing?
I spike my DHMO with ground coffee beans . You guys should try it sometime! What a rush!
But how do you make it back into water if it’s dehydrated? Lol
Why cant you put the bottles in the water, boil them at the same time? That way you sanitize you water and dehydrate it at the same time. The dehydrated water can then just go into the jars! Seriously?
Funny
i took this about as serious as i do everything else you post
You have officially brought down the intelligence of 25% of the People on this page. Congratulations you will now get someone killed while they try and barter with cans of dehydrated water.
Just add water; fluffs right back up!
