They only used a few supplies. Some PVC pipe, some rope, plastic pieces and a hand crank. They constructed the pipe and the rope with plastic pieces to act as a pulley system. Then the plastic pieces along with the rope go down where the water is then the crank gets turned which makes the rope turn and brings the water up and through the pipe. The water flow stays fairly steady.
As you can see, this water pump is not very complicated at all. It is effective and efficient. All it takes is a little bit of work to crank and then a nice flow of water will come out of the pipe.
