Forget Buying Hand Warmers, Just Make Them With These Simple Steps!

  • Those small hand warmers sure do keep your hands nice and toasty. However, it is a pain to have to keep buying some every time you need them. This is why being able to make your own with some easy steps is a much better idea. You may be shocked by how well they really work!

    Let's Get Started!

The Materials You Need To Gather Are:

2 plastic zipper bags – quart size
1 plastic zipper bag – snack size
1 ½ cups of Driveway Heat® ice melt
8 ounces of room temperature water (1 cup)
    Cloth work gloves

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

    Glove Up
    Put gloves on for protection.

    Pour It
Pour ice melt into one of the quart-size zipper bags. Leave  bag open, place it off to the side.

    Add Water
Add water to  snack-size zipper bag, close it tightly.

    Seal It
Place  zipper top water bag inside of  larger, ice-melt-filled bag. After pushing all  excess air out, seal  large bag completely shut.

    Double Up
Double up  quart-size zipper bags by putting  filled one inside of  empty one. Seal it to ensure there’s no spillage or rupturing.

    Pop It
Carefully pop water bag with your fingers, releasing all of the liquid into  larger bag. The water will mix with ice melt, causing the mixture to heat up.

    Cool It
Lay  bag on a flat surface, allow it to cool down a bit before using. At this stage, the packet should be warm and ready to use. You may want to try wrapping one of these warmers in a cloth or small towel before using it.

    Finished!

These do it yourself disposable hand warmers are so easy to make, you'll never need to buy the ones from the store again! Have you tried making these hand warmers yet?

Bags don’t last very long, increase time by using plastic water bottles. Best is flat plastic alcohol bottles, you can mix and put in your pocket for 30-45 minutes of heat.
