Don’t Toss That Fire-Damaged Furniture — We Have an Amazingly Easy Way to Save It!

  • This Proves Even Damaged Furniture Deserves a Second Chance!

Furniture that's been damaged in a fire looks (and smells!) pretty bad. In fact, at first glance pretty much anyone would assume there's just no way fire-damaged furniture can be salvaged. While this is generally true for things like upholstered furniture, with wood furniture you can often give it new life with the proper restoration methods. In fact, we recently came across a restoration method that's so simple we'll never throw out fire-damaged furniture without giving it a chance to be saved.

This method works for wood furniture that has smoke damage but not fire damage. If it's actually been burned, there may be little you can do to save it. If it's just smoke damage, however, you may be able to salvage it simply by using some steel wool and a sander, along with some furniture refinisher to give it a nice, new shine.
