Bugging Out vs. Bugging In: Know The Pros and Cons of Both

  • We all have that question. The one that every survivalist, prepper, and homesteader know. If we are faced with a societal collapse would we stay or would we go?

    There are pros and cons for both, and you need to know them all if you are going to make the right decision for you and your family.

    Obviously what you choose also depends on the situation that you are facing so if you must go- then, by all means, don't stay! Get your bag and head for the hills, just know the pros and cons before you do.  Now if you're reading this and have never even heard of the term bugging out/ bugging in let me explain.

    The terms are military in origin, and the phrase bugging out means that the area you are in is no longer safe or defensible and you have to leave. The term bugging in is the same thing however you have decided to stay put and defend your home.

    So now that we have the basics out of the way let's look at the pros and cons of both.

      Where do you bug out to? I look at this as i look at storm cellars. Do I really want to come out and see everything I love gone? Nope.
