  • While cars, planes and trains are large assets to us as methods of transportation, we often forget about another way of transportation: boats. Most people picture boats as a way to relax on a vacation or fulfill a hobby. However, boats can offer us a method of escape and survival when other methods of transportation are unavailable or unappealing. They can easily be transformed into a floating shelter or home.

    Cars come with crowded paved highways, planes come with packed airports and trains are slow and generally unaccessible. But have you ever seen a crowded ocean? By using a boat as either a way to evacuate from a natural disaster or to get away from holiday traffic, you can open up a new world full of water views and safe havens. Despite this advantage, there are precautionary steps to take before jumping on the boat and full-throttling it out to sea.

      Isolation and over crowding are also issues. People will go stir crazy on a small boat by themselves and if you have too many people, everyone will not be civil in such a small confined space. Spend time on land, and with others you trust.
