7 Places To Keep Items Safe in a SHTF scenario

  • When it comes to prepping there are many steps we need to take in order to ensure our property stays safe. When my kids were younger we had a plan on what to do in the event that SHTF. We had a bug out location that was well hidden and only the four of us knew how to get to.

Now because they were children their memory wasn't all that great and while we ran through our plan a few times we wanted to make sure they knew where everything was in the event that we were separated. So we did what any other parent would do, we created a list of instructions that they knew how to access that told them how to get to the location and how to access food and water.

Obviously, we did not leave this information sitting out on the coffee table for just anyone to access it we had a few hiding spots we created to help protect this vital information.

So let's take a look at a few of these unusual locations and maybe they will help you when you're deciding where to store important information or other items.

I always find it funny when they do this.
If you set something out in the open nobody would notice, they would walk on by.

The article covered some good spots, but I’m sure there are more.
I would imagine that those of us using some really good ones would not want to give them up so readily, lol. But, here’s a couple ideas:
      1. A false power outlet, or even a working one. But using a 4gang or multi-gang box would provide storage space that cannot be seen
      2. A false clean-out in the back yard provides a good amount of space for keeping small valuable items
      3. A cigar tube inside the top of a door like this….

You need to carefully video log and record on paper every single thing that happens around you for one city block, just in case travelers from the future want to know who killed us

There’s always gonna be a misuse of technology that wasn’t what it was invented for (a stun gun in the hands of a rapist, etc. NOT calling you a rapist 😉 ) and although I’m hoping your reply was an attempt at humor, sarcastic or otherwise; my point was for people to get creative. I wasn’t listing any places I use personally 🙂

I specialize in things like this. I’ve been paid to even drill a core out of a tree and replace the plug doctored with growth hormones so it can’t be detected unless you xray

Once I go to school and learn module training I’ll design lockboxes and rooms you can’t access unless you put a magnet on the right tree branch to signal the mag-lock to disengage downstairs without the proper manipulation of an acid based cylinder lock held in place by rice-paper.

Rice paper being wrapped around a cylinder of vinegar. If manipulated wrong, it breaks and the message with it
