Here are some items that most people have around their house that can be used as weapons.

1. Tactical Light

While some may only see a light it can be used in many ways.  Tactical lights might be small but they are extremely bright and can cause a very short blinding effect that will disorient the attacker, especially those that have a strobe mode for flashing light.

2. Bug Spray

Bug spray can be a weapon that capitalizes on irritation. While with pepper spray your attacker needs to be in close proximity to you the bug spray will offer you a defensive advantage at a safer distance. Pepper spray will work when the attacker is 3 feet close to your while most bug sprays will work at a distance of 20 feet.

3. Flaming Torch

This one is pretty self-explanatory. People fear being burned and a flaming torch is a weapon that will bring fear to any attacker. Think of the effects that flare gun will have on a person; a flaming torch will have double the effect making the assailant rethink his intentions of attacking you.

4. Sonic Weapons

Sonic weapons were originally used in water as a tactical way to fight off enemy ships. Obviously ships use bigger versions of the weapon but you can get your hands on a small one that runs on batteries. When turned on, the weapon will emit a sound that can cause nausea in the attackers. Just make sure your ears are muffled when using it.

5. Flare Gun

These guns are an amazing gun that brings in the raw power of fire as a great defense weapon.
