Prepping for an unexpected crisis like a natural disaster or economic collapse can be an overwhelming process. In the general sense, you first have to decide what to store. The development of that list of items involves doing research and thinking about what potential situations are most likely to occur at your specific location. Then, you need to purchase those items, which can add up quickly, particularly if you're not using DIY projects to make some of the items yourself. Finally, you need to find a place to safely store your stash of food and supplies.

The most important aspect of prepping is ensuring that your food is properly stored for the long term. It would be devastating to suddenly need that canned food only to discover that it has all gone bad. Sometimes the cans themselves give you signs that the product has gone bad, but other times they don't.
