There are certain periods of time in our world's history that seem particularly daunting: the Civil War, the Great Depression, World War I and II and of course, the Cold War. The escalation of tensions between the U.S. and the USSR made us feel especially frightened due to the potential use of nuclear weapons.
As a result of nuclear weapons threats, people across the world reacted in drastic ways, and understandably so. Children in schools were taught what to do if nuclear weapons rained from the sky and families began building bomb shelters in or near their homes. It was a time of uncertainty and darkness.
So, when this man came across a Soviet-era bunker, it was no surprise to find that it was eerie. It was as if the bunker was frozen in time.
