Lost in the Wild? 4 Survival Tips from an Expert

  • When looking at the spot that you are in there is one thing that you need to figure out right away and that is your nearest source of water!

    3) Find a Water Source- Randy Johnson (Brave Hunters)

Remember that human beings can survive for weeks without food but it is a whole different story with water. Because no one can survive for more than even 3 days, especially when you have to struggle in the jungle. Thus, it is vital for you to find a source of water when being isolated from everyone.

The best source of water you can find is a spring, but you are not always lucky like that. Don’t get desperate and give up. You can totally gather dew from plants in early mornings or even drink from a river. It may cause illness, but can help you stay alive longer.

When you are hydrated, it’s time to find food. But you have to tell the differences between safe and dangerous food in the forest. Because it’s still better to be healthy and hungry rather than ill. If you can catch any insect as well as small animals, build a small campfire to cook them.

So now that you have water what's next food…not exactly

    4) Find or Build Shelter

If you see any chance of spending the night in the woods, immediately prepare to build a shelter. This can keep you away from the extreme cold, rain, snow, and even dangerous insects and animals.

First, start with determining the position of the shelter you are going to build. It is quite good to build a shelter in a ditch. However, if it’s about to rain, you will be invaded by the rain-water so be careful with that. After that, look for existing structures like an old cottage. Then find a tree or a rock to make the base of your shelter in order to keep yourself away from the rain.

So what do you think? Do agree with these 4 steps or do you feel that there are other things to consider? Let us know in the comments below.
