Have you ever walked past something a thousand times and never even noticed it. I have, in fact, I've done it every day that I have lived on my property. I walked right past this and never even noticed it or knew what it was until I read an article that opened my eyes.

What I am referring to are called lichens, and they are the most primitive lifeforms on earth, and yes, they're edible.
