Growing up my family lived out in an area that is known to be a rural community. I loved it. We had trees and wooded areas nearby and open fields covered and family in every direction. There was even a pond close by where we would go fishing or at least stood there for as long as our attention spans would allow.

We spent the summers building forts, playing baseball, football and catching fireflies at night. I remember one summer when I was a kid my oldest cousin taught us the art of making traps for smaller animals. So when someone sent me this next idea I had to laugh as it took be back to when I was a kid. So I compiled the instructions for you on the next page so you too can create your own small animal trap and maybe even teach someone else how to do the same.
