A Fan if Property Brothers? I was Surprised to Hear Them Say This

  • Based on their personal experiences, Drew and Jonathan Scott have unanimously decided which increasingly popular home trend needs to go out of style. At first you might be surprised at what it is, but their reasoning makes sense. The novelty of this trend has clearly worn off on the brothers and I'm sure they're not the only ones.

They told us that they wish the tiny home trend would just go away. “I don't like it because most of the tiny houses we've seen, they're not built to code; they're not actually functional,” Jonathan said.

Drew explains, “Our whole philosophy is that your home should make your life easier, and as soon as you start tripping over each other and trying to squeeze too much into a space for it to work, then you're not making your life easier. You're making your life more hectic.”

Do you agree with the Property Brothers? Would you attempt to live in a tiny house?

They aren’t entirely wrong if they are talking about building codes that they have to go by for a usual home. I’ve seen plenty of small homes, the ones on wheels, and haven’t seen any smoke detectors on the ceilings/sides/whatever. The codes for those homes are different than the codes for a non-mobile small home.

I don’t think it needs to go away as much as it needs to be reworked. A large home takes up a lot of ones free time. Time they can’t spend on pursuing interests, being outside. Tiny has a purpose.
