Toxic Mold Exposure Symptoms

  • There are many different kinds of mold out there and we need to be aware of what causes it, the symptoms of long term mold exposure and how to treat it.

The frustrating thing about mold exposure is that it can be masked as other things meaning that you are exposed to it longer than you should be because you thought it was something else. Usually something simple like allergies or the common cold.

Signs that you may have toxic mold exposure are often expressed through allergic reactions like:

    • wheezing
    • rash
    • watery eyes
    • runny nose
    • itchy eyes
    • coughing
    • redness of the eyes

If you have been exposed for a long period of time here are some other things that you are going to want to look out for

Mold exposure can also lead to more serious conditions, such as:

    • respiratory distress
    • inflammation
    • cognitive issues
    • neurological symptoms
    • immune suppression
    • asthma
    • fatigue and weakness
    • post-exertional malaise
    • disorientation and confusion
    • headaches
    • vertigo and lightheadedness
    • sensitivity to light or blurred vision
    • muscles aches and pains
    • abdominal issues like nausea, cramping, and diarrhea.

If you suspect that you may have some toxic mold somewhere in your home then the first thing to do would be to remove yourself from the area. Stay at a hotel or friends home until you can resolve the situation.

The next thing you will want to do is call a company that specializes in mold removal and they can clean it up and get your air back to a liveable quality again.

Most importantly if it is confirmed to be a toxic mold speak to your doctor about what you can do to flush the toxins from your body. There are some natural supplements that you can take but always double check with your doctor to make sure that those supplements will not interact with any current medication that you are currently taking.

Be wise, Be well, Be aware!
