If you are just beginning to build up your homestead, then these are the best livestock for you to consider!
When you first start your homestead, it can be a thrilling experience. You put all that hard work into everything and can feel proud of what you have created. However, to make it as good as it can be, you will need to think about and plan for what kind of livestock you want.
Since livestock need food, water, space and many other things to stay healthy and to provide for you, deciding which ones to start with can be overwhelming. You have to think about all the things they will need and how much work each of them will take. Some livestock are better to start with for a beginner than others. This way you can start seeing the results you want without feeling like you took on more than you could handle.
To learn which five livestock are best to invest in when you are first starting your homestead, please head on over to the next page.

Good list, one question, is that a gallon of milk a day per goat? Anybody recommend any other animals?
Thanks for this. My husband and I will be starting a homestead in a number of years once we save up and get the land and the house.

hell ya!!
I have 4 pigs and they eat $20 of corn and soybeans a week. That’s 120 lbs of food. Have 20 chickens and pick up 6 – 18 eggs a day. We don’t buy much from a store.
Hello Robert is that $20 a week for each pig or for all 4?
