6 Ways People Set Themselves Up for Failure Before SHTF

  • “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” A phrase that can be attributed to many people but it applies to us even today. People talk about survival, they watch videos and read books on it and discuss how the world is going to “hell in a handbasket” as my grandmother would say. But yet when it comes to prepping what are they actually doing.

I am sorry, but the “I will get to it” mentality is not going to work if you want to be prepared.

There are so many things that need to be considered before they happen, things that take planning and supplies that need gathering and if you wait until you need them then it will already be too late.

There are six crucial steps you should be taking to help make your life easier if you ever need to rely on your survival gear and knowledge long term. They will help you take stock of what gear you have, keep motivated and learn how to use your supplies effectively. So keep reading and let's look at the mistakes many have been making and let's see how our actions measure up.

In the event of an EMP attack (Electromagnetic Pulse) your car will not work. In fact,no electronic devices will work. A single multi-kiloton nuke exploded 125 miles above Omaha Nebraska will blanket the US with an EMP blast that will effectively destroy all electronic devices in the country. Automobiles will stop in their tracks,no electricity, no phones, nothing. Probably the single most likely thing a Nuclear Power would do to us. Plan on traveling on foot,at night. Don’t forget your knife and crossbow. If you aren’t seen or heard, you’ll be harder to stop.
