10 Reasons To Build An Earthbag House

  • 6. Soundproof.

If only all homes were as sound proof as this one! Seriously it's something you just have to experience!

    7. Fireproof.

Since it's made primarily of mud there is no risk for fire.

    8. Flood proof.

Since the mud filled bags make up a major component of the construction process this helps make the home flood proof. I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing these pop up around major flood zones! In fact, I am super surprised that people who live near the Gulf of Mexico haven't started converting to this type of home structure.

    9. Inexpensive to build.

While most homes today cost 20,000 or more to build this home only cost a total of 5,000 dollars! The biggest expense is purchasing the sacks and barbed wire. I am sure that we can find some sort of less expensive way to make our own sacks but with the construction, you would still have to do after it seems simpler at that time to simply purchase the bags and wire.

    10. Beauty.

These homes are simply stunning to look at. Their design features and a little bit of creativity you can have a beautiful home that is self-sustainable!
