If you ask anyone who is into the survival lifestyle and/or prepping what is the #1 danger you will run into if forced into a survival situation, chances are they will all say having potable water!
While the body can go 3 weeks without food if you have no access to clean drinking water you will be at death's door within 3 DAYS! So the first thing any survival expert will tell you is to find a water source ASAP. Now depending on the situation and your location this may be difficult and finding drinkable water is a lot tougher than it sounds.
That is where the good people at LifeStraw came in!
The LifeStraw Go is a refillable water bottle that uses a two-stage filtration process to make water safe to drink. The brand claims it removes 99.9999-percent of bacteria and parasites. It is not intended to remove viruses.
According to the brand, the carbon capsule will last for up to three months of consistent use, which amounts to around 26 gallons of water. Replacement capsules are available online for about $16 a pair.
The bottle itself holds 650ml (about 21 ounces) of water. But you shouldn’t need to worry about running out of fluids anyway, as this is a refillable gadget.
LifeStraw Go: Field Test
We used the LifeStraw Go on a weekend hiking trip to the Aosta Valley in Italy last September. This turned out to be the perfect proving ground.
As it was late season, some of the high-alpine refuges (European for “huts”) closed for summer, so we had no choice but to use the streams and mountain lakes along the trail. Not having to worry about the quality of the water in our water bottles was pretty liberating. It took all the stress out of the situation and left us free to drink as much as we wanted.
Needless to say, I was so impressed with this product that I purchased one to keep in every car get home bag and I purchased enough for my entire family in each bug out bag as well. I honestly thing if you as a prepper are going to purchase anything you need to make sure that you get your money's worth and this product could just save your life!

Laura Hunt we need these for our travels!
