Stay Cool and Safe Even in the Dog Days of Summer!

We all know that should a SHTF moment occur, we need to have already planned for potential food shortages or the inability to cook food (such as if the power grid goes down). Many of us have also already planned for water shortages or contamination, as well as for our physical safety should unrest occur. However, another likely need will be air conditioning. After all, if there's no power, it may be impossible to stay cool if it's hot weather, and rising temperatures can be dangerous.

Fortunately, you don't need a complicated or fancy air conditioning system to stave off the heat and stay comfortable and safe. In fact, many early air conditioners were rather primitive by modern standards, and have several features you can replicate to make a DIY personal AC system. The following version is known as a swamp cooler, and works best in dry climates. Knowing how to make could just save your life!
