How To Know When Prepping Has Gone Too Far

  • Life is all about balance. You can have dessert if you balance it out by having a healthy dinner. You can spend the weekend out late with friends if you worked hard at the office during the week. Without balance, our lives would not go as smoothly as we want. The moderation is what keeps us healthy, sane and happy.

    The same can be said for survival prepping. Too much worrying can lead to paranoia that eventually controls your daily life while too little worrying leaves you completely unprepared and vulnerable to the destruction of a calamity. Just as with your health or career, there must be a balance. A healthy and moderate amount of worrying about a disastrous event can create something positive: a fully-stocked supply of survival items. This healthy worrying requires spending a day or two making your survival list, shopping for it and then storing it away. When you begin to dig a fallout shelter in your backyard without a permit or stashing half of a gun store in your basement, then you have to re-evaluate your priorities.
