How To Build a Sleeping Platform for Your Pickup Truck

  • You'll Never Go Back to Sleeping in a Tent Again!

If you enjoy camping, you might relish spending the night in the great outdoors, with open space around you and star-filled skies above you. However, sometimes inclement weather means a tent just won't do it, or maybe you want something a little safer and more secure to spend the night in. Sure, you can buy an expensive camper or even an RV, but there's another that's much cheaper and provides you with a dry, secure place to get some shuteye.

The solution? A sleeping platform! It's surprisingly easy to make, plus it doesn't cost all that much. Even better, it's easy to customize to suit your camping and outdoor needs. For example, you can add supplies such as a small stove for cooking. Plus, with a sleeping platform, you'll stay warmer and more dry than you would in a tent, plus you don't have to spend time setting up and taking a tent or putting out and then rolling up a sleeping bag. When you're ready to turn in for the next, just head to your truck and call it a night!

I don’t see any pictures except the one with everything already together, at the beginning. I like the concept but would like to see how it comes a part.

Works best with a full size truck and 8 foot bed. This is a similar concept to the plug and play carpet kits one could buy years ago.

Much better to have a van. You can stand up. Easier to get in and out of. Easier to insulate and climate. Less noise on the roof. More room and you don’t have to jump down from the tailgate.
